Brooklyn Guy, the villain of his own stories, tops Nicktendo's SML week

A compilation built on the tales where Brooklyn Guy turns out to be the bad guy drew the most views of six uploads, with a try-not-to-laugh sequel close behind.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

"Brooklyn Guy Stories Where HE Is The Villain! | SML Compilation" does exactly what the title says: it gathers the animated stories in which Brooklyn Guy, the fast-talking New Yorker of the SML universe, turns out to be the problem. Nicktendo, a clips channel built on SuperMarioLogan animations, posted it on September 28, and it is the most watched of the six uploads that went up over the past seven days, past 60,000 views.

The comment section reads like a running scorecard of his misdeeds. Viewers timestamp the moments they think are the most evil, one argues at length over which side was really in the right in the pumpkin-costume story, and another mock-mourns a character's untimely end. The most liked comment of all is a request: stories from Does Bad Things Guy next.

The channel seems happy to keep the Brooklyn Guy theme going. On October 2 came "TRY NOT TO LAUGH: Brooklyn Guy's FUNNIEST Stories!", and within eight hours it was gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. Between the two compilations ran a string of shorts, from "The Hawaiian Punch Incident!" to "Marvin's Roof Clown!", the busiest of them.

Daily views are running a little above their usual level, with about 1.3 million added over the week, while the subscriber count held where it was. Among animation channels of a similar size, SmashBits Animations and DevilArtemis are having the loudest weeks, and Nicktendo sits comfortably in the middle of the group.
