Brock Purdy and the 49ers got the last laugh as they remain undefeated #NFL #49ers #football

Brock Purdy's response, rather than just the play itself, is the talking point beneath NFL on FOX's latest 49ers Short. Viewers are discussing an apparent "too small" gesture, asking whether it deserved a taunting penalty, and pointing back to the result.

FOX frames the clip as Purdy and San Francisco getting the "last laugh" while remaining undefeated. It reached nearly half a million views in 11 hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. The comment section is unusually busy, too, with more than sixteen times the usual first-day comments before a full day has passed.

Several viewers focus on Purdy not getting caught up in the exchange. That theme has a fitting bit of career context: he entered the NFL as the final pick of the 2022 draft, earning the traditional "Mr. Irrelevant" label before becoming San Francisco's starting quarterback.

Mike Evans keeps coming up in the discussion as well, and FOX has a companion clip titled "New Mike Evans 'Who are you?' angle just dropped #NFL #49ers #football." It is also drawing an unusually large early audience. Alongside that exchange, another FOX Short has Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman discussing Evans's place among elite receivers, giving viewers both the on-field words and the football résumé behind them.
