'The One About Matthew Perry' outpaces Netflix's recent trailers
Nearly every TV and streaming channel had a slow stretch, Netflix's included, and this trailer drew about twenty-eight times a usual Netflix first day.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,672,149 views a day, 28 times a normal first day on this channel (60,117).

Across the TV networks and streaming services, it has been a soft stretch. The BBC, Comedy Central, Dropout and Prime Video are all drawing fewer daily views than usual, and Netflix's main channel is running well under its own normal pace.
The trailer for "The One About Matthew Perry" is the exception. It passed 1.4 million views within its first sixteen hours, a pace close to twenty-eight times what a new Netflix upload usually gathers on its first day. That also leaves behind the trailers that led the channel earlier in the week, the Spanish drama "La Bola Negra" and "Paralyzed by Hope: The Maria Bamford Story".
The title does much of the introducing. Perry played Chandler Bing through all ten seasons of Friends, a show whose episodes are named "The One With..." or "The One Where...", and this title borrows that format. The trailer comes without a description, so beyond its name it gives away little about what the film covers.
