USC erases a halftime deficit to edge Washington 25-21

Less than a day after NBC Sports posted it, the reel from USC against Washington had passed 155,000 views. A new highlights video on the channel usually ends its first day somewhere under 6,000.
The game earned the attention. Washington went into halftime in front, and USC's defense, in the description's words, stepped up in the second half to close out a 25-21 win. The comments replay that swing play by play. Several viewers single out a fumble returned for a touchdown as the moment Washington let it slip. Others wince at the tackling on both sides, especially on one Washington score that looked to some like a game of two-hand touch. One viewer imagines how the Huskies' final two-minute drive would have been remembered had it come off.
The comment section filled about ten times faster than on a usual first day, and plenty of it is about Lincoln Riley, the coach USC brought in from Oklahoma in 2021. One of the most liked replies simply calls it a great Pac-12 game. That is a fond nod to the conference both schools left for the Big Ten in 2024. Another viewer noticed that the thumbnail catches a player in the pose of the Heisman Trophy.
Washington's own best moment got a separate short: Decker DeGraaf breaking two tackles and tiptoeing down the sideline for a 42-yard touchdown. Two other Saturday reels also ran well ahead of the channel's usual start. One was the Spanish-language extended highlights of the USMNT's friendly against Mexico in Glendale. The other was Michigan at Minnesota, where the Gophers scored 13 unanswered points after the break for their first home win over the Wolverines since 1977.
