"Who took them bites": LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards judge a bitten snack
A short from the Timberwolves' own account, in which players pick which bite they would take next, became Bleacher Report's loudest clip of the weekend, laugh included.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 981,385 views a day, 62 times a normal first day on this channel (15,714).
LaMelo & Ant are straight comedy 🤣
A new clip on Bleacher Report usually collects around 15,000 views in its first day. "LaMelo & Ant are straight comedy" had close to half a million in its first eight hours.
The premise is tiny. The Minnesota Timberwolves, whose account supplied the footage, asked players to look at a piece of food already bitten in a few places and choose which bite they would take next. LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards treat it as a serious matter. The line most viewers repeat is Ball's: he does not want to choose a bite, he wants to know who took the first ones. Then comes his laugh, which the comments keep trying to describe. They compare it to a dinosaur's call and to Plankton from SpongeBob, and several say he sounds more like his father, LaVar Ball, every year. Edwards gets his share too, for how earnestly he considers his bite.
The rest of the comment section has turned into a vote. Viewers argue for A, B or C and explain how to balance crust against the soft middle.
It topped a busy Sunday for the channel. A college football show with David Pollack and Takeo Spikes reacting to the new AP Top 25, a clip of LeBron James wrapped in plastic and ice at 41, and Arvydas Sabonis standing taller than Shaquille O'Neal at a EuroLeague game all ran well ahead of a usual start. None of them came close to the bite debate.
