Mind Pulp meets Manhunt's most frustrating enemy: a crane

Two new uploads take the hosts from Rockstar's stealth horror to Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem.

  1. 1:12James Earl Cash's introduction establishes the game's sinister setup.
  2. 2:11The hosts learn the stealth controls and use shadows to avoid enemies.
  3. 2:40A plastic-bag attack prompts jokes about reusable Tesco shopping bags.
  4. 16:32An industrial yard introduces a crane with a hanging magnet.
  5. 18:46Repeated trouble with the crane sends the co-host searching online for other players' complaints.

Stealth, shadows and makeshift weapons get Mind Pulp through much of Manhunt. Then an industrial-yard crane gives the hosts something rather less sinister to complain about: the controls.

Their let's play, "the BANNED Rockstar Game", is the week's most watched new upload, approaching 200,000 views. The two hosts follow James Earl Cash through Rockstar's grim stealth game, puncturing its atmosphere with Tesco shopping-bag jokes before struggling to operate a hanging magnet. "I hate the crane mini-game," one host says, while the other searches for fellow sufferers online.

Viewers have a different piece of machinery in mind: the attack button. Repeated comments explain that holding it longer unlocks different finishers, a mechanic the hosts missed. Others ask for Manhunt 2 or recall Rockstar's broader catalogue beyond Grand Theft Auto.

The other new upload makes quite a change of scenery. "the TERRIBLE Cat in the Hat party game" takes on Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem, which the description unfavourably compares with Mario Party. It collected roughly 42,000 views in its opening five hours.

Neither new arrival is currently the channel's busiest video day to day. That distinction belongs to "the WORST vampire game EVER", its encounter with Vampire Rain, posted just before this week's pair. The Xbox-store Wheel of Misery outing we covered earlier is also continuing to collect views.

Subscribers increased over the week, although daily viewing is currently around half its usual level. Among nearby gaming channels, Mind Pulp's weekly views are almost level with Scott's Stash; Retro Jakes is having a much larger week. For Mind Pulp, the active catalogue remains an unusually specific collection of hazards: vampires, questionable storefront purchases and one deeply uncooperative crane.
