Ron Perlman's monster game has a splinter problem
Beth Stelling is rather more selective as Jon Lovett puts a lineup of fictional creatures to an adults-only test.
Why this story? The video is running at 190,114 views a day, 17 times its usual pace (11,061).
Ron Perlman would definitely do these monsters
Beth Stelling turns down Lestat. Ron Perlman barely needs time to consider him. Jon Lovett's game of sexual attraction to fictional monsters quickly establishes that his guests have very different standards.
The Lovett or Leave It clip, "Ron Perlman would definitely do these monsters", picked up around 190,000 views in a day, roughly seventeen times its usual daily pace. Posted six days earlier, it is now supplying about two-thirds of the channel's daily views, as viewing across the channel rises to more than quadruple its normal level.
Perlman's enthusiasm is the running joke. The Other Mommy gets an immediate "All day!" A Resident Evil creature assembled from body parts also receives a yes, while Stelling firmly declines. Ghostface, at least, gets their agreement.
For the actor who played Hellboy in Guillermo del Toro's films, being unfazed by a monster lineup is a particularly fitting comic role. Viewers keep returning to that connection in the comments, alongside jokes about how readily he says yes.
But Perlman does have limits. Cathy from East of Eden loses her appeal once Lovett explains her personality. And the Wicker Man presents a more practical obstacle: splinters. After all those creatures, wood is where caution finally enters the conversation.
