Gina Hinojosa for governor. James Talarico for Senate. Jesse Dollemore runs through the Democratic victories in Texas before turning to Donald Trump's explanation for Republican losses: his own name wasn't on the ballot.
The Dollemore Daily Short drew roughly 200,000 views in 20 hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for the format. Its subject is a contradiction Dollemore finds between Trump's campaign pitch and his response to defeat.
Well into the clip, Dollemore reads the president's Truth Social post: "I wasn't on the ballot, and if I was, we would have won in a landslide!" He then recalls Trump's repeated instruction to rally crowds to vote as if he were on the ballot.
Texas supplies only part of Dollemore's argument. He also points to Ohio, where Amy Acton defeated Vivek Ramaswamy for governor and Sherrod Brown defeated Jon Husted for the Senate seat. Dollemore describes both states as blue after those victories, using the results to frame a broader rebuke to Trump.
The host saves his answer to the landslide claim for the closing stretch: "They did vote like he was on the ballot, and they lost."
