Peyz picks Caliste over himself in Worlds ADC game

LoL Esports' rapid-fire interview becomes a straight-faced commitment to Karmine Corp's player, whoever else the interviewer names.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 602,957 views a day, 28 times a normal first day on this channel (21,349).

Who could persuade Peyz to change his answer? Once Caliste enters this best-ADC-at-Worlds game, not even Peyz's own name can do it.

The LoL Esports Short starts with a changing cast of choices. Doggo holds the spot for several questions, then Smash takes over. But when the interviewer offers Caliste, Peyz settles on an answer and stays there.

Hans Sama and JackeyLove follow. Then comes the question that makes the routine personal: "Caliste or T1 Peyz?"

"Caliste."

The interviewer laughs as Gumayusi, Viper and Ruler also fail to shift him. Peyz finishes with a straight face, leaving the delivery to do the work.

The clip reached roughly 368,000 views in ten hours, far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. Its comment section was already much busier than a typical first day, too. Viewers joke about whether such emphatic praise amounts to a sporting curse; others turn Caliste's name into a joke about the champion Kalista.

There is a match behind the name game. LoL Esports also posted "The Blue Wall Meets the World Champions," setting up Karmine Corp's Worlds quarterfinal against T1. That preview describes KC's first Worlds run through Play-Ins and Swiss, giving Peyz's unwavering choice a very specific backdrop: he is picking the ADC on the other side of the quarterfinal.
