K/DA, DJ Sona - GIRLS ft. Sophie Powers, Sorana, Royal & the Serpent (Official Video)

Red-eyed demonic hounds flank Evelynn's throne, and subtlety isn't on the agenda. In "GIRLS," K/DA's resident demon gets a showcase that jumps between glossy 3D poses, graffiti-like animation and flashes of saturated red and cyan.

The release on the League of Legends channel reached roughly 870,000 views in half a day, already well beyond its usual first-day audience for short uploads. But the conversation has a more specific focus than the size of the launch: viewers are discussing Evelynn's recurring solo spotlights and welcoming DJ Sona back into League's pop world.

K/DA is a virtual group drawn from the game's champions, and this Riot Games and THE LINE production puts Evelynn front and center. Sophie Powers, Sorana and Royal & the Serpent receive featured billing on the electronic dance-pop track. Around Evelynn, the imagery moves from a red-lit industrial hall to kaleidoscopic faces, glowing eyes and smoky blue silhouettes.

It is a different setting from Ahri and Akali's road trip in "NEVER GOING BACK," released last month. That video gave K/DA a car; this one gives Evelynn a throne and a pair of sinister attendants. Even here, though, another member leaves a calling card: a scribbled "AKALI WAZ HERE" appears among the overlays.
