Cubera snapper after dark: Landshark Outdoors spends 36 hours on the Gulf

Viktor Hluben fished out of Port Fourchon, Louisiana, with Joe VT and Adam of MovinWeightFishing, and the description counts more than a dozen snapper and grouper species.

"36 hrs at Sea! Trip of a LIFETIME! (Giant Cubera Snapper) Catch n Cook" is the one new video on Landshark Outdoors, Viktor Hluben's channel of fishing, diving and cooking what he catches. It is an overnight deep sea trip with a charter out of Port Fourchon, Louisiana. By day the boat worked through snapper and grouper, more than a dozen species by the description's count. At night it went looking for giant cubera snapper, the biggest of the snappers.

Vik had company. Joe of the Joe VT Fishing channel and Adam of MovinWeightFishing are named in the description, and Joe ends up as the star of the comments: viewers talk about his long gray hair, about how much he explains about each fish, and about how plainly he loves the job. Several people point out that Adam was trusted with the ceviche. A marbled grouper is on more than one viewer's bucket list. One of the anglers who was aboard writes that he laughed until his stomach hurt, and he is already talking about a next trip.

The new video gathered around 70,000 views on its first day and is now moving at more than twice the pace of the Alaska halibut trip from Sitka, which went up nineteen days ago and still pulls in a steady crowd. Overall the channel ran a little below its usual pace, with its subscriber count unchanged. Among similar outdoors channels, Laura Farms is having the big week, well above its norm, while PioneerPauly is quieter than usual.

The Alaska video's description carries some news too: Vik is selling his 2850 Bluewater because a 36-foot Bluewater is being built.
