Squirrel wings follow tree bark on The Wooded Beardsman's yes-or-no menu
The bark video has passed half a million views since Saturday, and the channel's whole day has climbed to about ten times its usual pace.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 502,572 views a day, 10 times a normal day (50,124).
"Eating tree bark! (yes or no?)" went up on Saturday, and it has now gone past half a million views. Around it, The Wooded Beardsman's channel is having a day roughly ten times busier than an ordinary one. Nothing else he has posted lately comes near the bark video, so it is the obvious place to look.
The rest of his week is still counted in the tens of thousands. "Hear me out - Duck soup!" opened it. A short lesson called "The simple skill you need!" came next, then "Eating Beaver Burgers! (yes, or no??)", which the description bills as one of the best burgers you will ever eat. Most of these uploads put the same question to the wild pantry: is it worth eating?
That question sits close to the heart of the channel. His about page explains that he does not catch and release and does not "harvest". He catches, keeps and eats what he finds, and he says that is what gives him a deeper respect for the animals. A video about chewing on a tree is that idea at its plainest, with no rod, rifle or trap involved.
On Sunday he added the next entry, "Wild Squirrel Wings! (yes, or no?)". It is still in its first day, and the verdict is in the video.
