A fisherman, a kayak and a price: URName's clip nears ten million
The channel bills itself on police encounters and doorbell cameras, yet its newest uploads are all fishing clips, and this one is carrying almost the entire day.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 7,249,646 views a day, 14 times a normal day (535,345).
How far can one price tag travel? "Fisherman Shocked By The Price For Kayak" passed a million views within fifteen hours of going up, as we reported here. Three days on, it is closing in on ten million, and it has pulled the whole channel along with it, giving URName a day more than ten times busier than usual.
The clip is exactly what its title says: a fisherman, a kayak and a price that caught him off guard. URName is a clips channel, and the title does not say who filmed the moment or what the price was.
That fishing story sits a little oddly beside the channel's own introduction. The about text promises real-life moments from police encounters, doorbell cameras and security footage, with a viewer discretion warning attached. Lately, though, almost everything has been about the water. "Shocking Find During Fishing," "Dad Is Proud Of His Fishing Son," "That's Why You Wear Life Jackets" and "That's Why Men Fish Alone" all went up in the same stretch, and each sits in the tens of thousands. The kayak clip has outrun all of them combined, many times over. Perhaps a question about what something should cost reaches people who would never watch a fishing video for the fish?
Among outdoors channels of a similar size, IFarm WeFarm and Outback Mike are also running ahead of their usual pace, while Dofarm Channel and Brute Mode Collective are having quieter days.
URName, meanwhile, has kept up its rhythm: a new fishing clip every day since the end of September, with the kayak still doing the heavy paddling.
