1,000 kilometers on one treadmill: Lambros sets a November date at Marvel Stadium
The brothers announced a seven-day run in Melbourne for their grandmother, in a week that added 40,000 subscribers and left the channel 55,000 short of a million.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
1000km Treadmill Ultra Marathon🚀
Lambros added 40,000 subscribers over the week and now stands at 945,000, which leaves the million within sight. The brothers behind the channel, who say in their about text that they have run across Australia and the UK, have spent the past months running for their grandmother, who is living with cancer.
The biggest news of the week came in an announcement rather than a race. "1000km Treadmill Ultra Marathon🚀" sets out the plan: in November, at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, the two brothers will share a single treadmill and try to cover 1,000 kilometers between them in seven days. The description calls it the hardest thing they have tried and admits they are scared. It also repeats the promise they made to their grandmother, to raise $1 million for cancer research. Under the video, many viewers write about relatives of their own who have had cancer.
The second upload, a 34-kilometer run along the bayside, was dedicated to their grandmother and to a young girl with brain cancer. Its description mentions rough trails, a meeting with an echidna and a finish in under five hours.
Most of the channel's views still come from August's 50km Wonderfalls ultra, and September's 22km Parkdale run has now passed a million. Views were lighter than a usual week. Even so, only World Poker Tour gained more among the similar sports channels.
