A month-old Parkdale run for Nicole nears a million views for Lambros
An older run from the same streets is climbing again too, and the whole channel drew about four times its usual daily views.
Why this story? The video is running at 22,719 views a day, 11 times its usual pace (1,990).
22km Parkdale Half Marathon🚀
"22km Parkdale Half Marathon🚀" went up on Lambros on September 5. For most of September it drew a couple of thousand views a day. Then it picked up speed, and it is now close to a million views.
The video follows one of the brothers' long runs through Parkdale, a bayside suburb of Melbourne. The description calls the day unexpectedly tough, with legs heavy by the end, and says the finish came after almost three hours and a few cakes. The run is dedicated to their grandma and to Nicole. The comment section is mostly condolences for Nicole, along with a smaller thread of viewers remarking that the runner barely seems to break a sweat.
It is not climbing alone. "23km Parkdale Half Marathon🚀" is the older and already bigger of the two. It was posted in August and dedicated to a young viewer who died of cancer, and it is rising again as well. Across the channel, views ran about four times the usual daily pace, and new subscribers came in roughly seven times faster than normal. It is not clear what set the August and September runs moving again, since the newest uploads are drawing much smaller audiences.
Those newer videos show where the Parkdale training led. There are ultra marathons in Thailand and China, and an announcement for November: the brothers plan to cover 1,000 kilometers between them on a single treadmill at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, over seven days. The treadmill video says they promised their grandma they would raise a million dollars for cancer before they lose her, and the channel's about text gives the same goal.
