"I do think a nine and three team gets in this thing," Joel Klatt says, handing LSU a place near the bottom of his projected College Football Playoff bracket. That choice has even a self-described LSU partisan in the comments asking whether Kentucky has the clearer path.

The Short lays out Klatt's final bracket prediction before the official rankings arrive. Indiana gets the top seed as his predicted Big Ten champion, followed by Georgia, Ohio State and Notre Dame. He projects the Irish to beat Miami and secure the last first-round bye, with Miami winning the ACC but landing a place below them.

This is a forecast of where teams will finish, not simply a ranking of how they look today. That distinction matters after Miami led the ranking we covered earlier: Klatt is now building conference results and the Miami-Notre Dame game into his playoff picture.

The clip passed roughly 112,000 views in 15 hours, already far beyond the show's usual first day for a Short. Its comment section was more than fourteen times as busy as a typical full first day. The segment is sponsored by Hilton.

Viewers are picking at specific choices. An Indiana supporter questions whether the offense can deliver a conference championship, while another commenter argues an undefeated Utah should land higher than Klatt's sixth seed. LSU takes his last at-large place; Oregon State completes the bracket.

What viewers say

  • I am an LSU homer, but Kentucky has a clearer path than we do. UK needs some respect
  • Joe, as an Indiana fan, predicting Indiana as number 1 is crazy for me. With our current offense and QB I highly doubt we can win the conference championship. We probably should be 8 to 10
