BYU had earned Joel Klatt's top spot in the ranking we covered last week. His new countdown leaves the Cougars until the very beginning: a loss to UCF sends them to the bottom of his Top 10, while Miami gets the final reveal.

"And number one: Miami. They destroyed Pitt," Klatt says. It is a substantial reshuffle, but the new leader isn't the only choice viewers want to discuss.

Notre Dame lands fourth after a bye week, above both Georgia and BYU. Several commenters question that order, pointing back to BYU's head-to-head win over Notre Dame. Others ask how much schedules and results should count against Klatt's assessment of a team's potential.

Texas neatly captures that tension. Klatt puts the two-loss Longhorns eighth, describing them as "High ceiling, low floor." Indiana, meanwhile, gets credit for the less glamorous ingredients of its overtime win over Michigan: defense and field position. Ohio State sits just below Miami despite quarterback questions.

The sponsored Short, presented by Hilton, reached about 81,000 views in its first 15 hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day Shorts audience. Its comment section was more than ten times as busy as a typical first day.

For viewers wanting the reasoning beyond the countdown, the accompanying full episode examines Texas' offense, Indiana's narrow escape and the Big 12 upsets before reaching Klatt's rankings.

What viewers say

Im a hardcore Buckeye fan but I just have this gut feeling we aren't the #2 team in the country. If we had a stout run game and pass rush I'd feel differently, I don't where I'd put us, I think it's just a mess this year and it's going to be exciting down the stretch

How is Notre Dame ranked so high and above BYU when BYU beat them on the field. Head to Head is always the first tiebreaker when records are the same. I would have Georgia at 2 because they have more quality wins and a healthy qb. Osu would be at 3 for me right now until we see what new offense looks like.
