Views jump 7x the channel's usual pace

Jim Jefferies follows Alcoholocaust with "Was That Racist?"

The new upload and the full vintage special have each reached roughly a quarter of a million views as his channel has an unusually busy day.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 329,495 views a day, 7 times a normal day (46,922).

Was That Racist?Was That Racist?

Jim Jefferies isn't leaving his Alcoholocaust return at a single full-length upload. "Was That Racist?" arrived the following day, with a description pointing viewers toward the older special, and has already drawn almost as many views.

Together, the two uploads give his channel a different emphasis from the topical conversations he shares with Amos Gill on At This Moment. The channel drew roughly 330,000 views in a day, seven times its usual daily pace.

As we reported here, Jefferies has brought his 2010 special back in full. He describes its territory as drinking, religion and his own questionable decisions, and calls it one of his best specials. The follow-up makes that archive release the subject of another invitation to watch, rather than moving straight back to the podcast's news agenda.

There's plenty of precedent for older stand-up having a long life on his channel: the gun-control routines from Bare and his airplane-etiquette bit from Fully Functional remain among its most-watched regular uploads.
