Ben Bankas saves his Trump cap for the Austin punchline

His morning-after-election comedy Short drew six times the usual first-day comments, without an unusual surge in views.

Why this story? The video drew 869 comments in its first day, 6 times a normal first day on this channel (146).

Woke up in Austin, TX like… #comedy #comedian #bluestate #texas

What does Ben Bankas offer anyone feeling down after the election? A reminder hidden on the front of his backward baseball cap.

Filming himself outdoors in Austin, Bankas opens with a just-woke-up greeting before sarcastically describing people celebrating Democratic gains. This is a political comedy routine, with exaggerated impressions and a closing visual gag, rather than an election report.

Near the end, he addresses viewers who might be sad, turns his red cap forward to reveal the embroidered Trump name, and reminds them that Trump is still president.

The conversation beneath "Woke up in Austin, TX like… #comedy #comedian #bluestate #texas" was much busier than the channel's usual Short: first-day comments came in at six times the normal level, while views were ordinary. Alongside discussion of the election's consequences, several commenters specifically mention the hat reveal and closing line.

Bankas continued the Texas theme with another upload titled "Weird to wake up in a Blue Texas.. #comedy #comedian #standup #standupcomedy #shorts #comedyshorts".
