A Jason Witten jersey, Maracanã and a goal-line heartbreak in Rio
Steve, a Cowboys fan for 20 years, filmed Dallas against Baltimore with a Brazilian crowd that shouted the penalties before the referees called them.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
FULL EXPERIENCE NFL in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Copacabana beach & Maracana Stadium)
JetLag Warriors, the Canadian travelling family of Steve, Ivana and baby Jean, posted nothing new over the week. The video still finding the most viewers is the one closest to Steve's heart: "FULL EXPERIENCE NFL in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Copacabana beach & Maracana Stadium)."
By his own account, it was a dream trip. Brazil is his favorite country, and he has followed the Cowboys for two decades, driving the family RV to nearly every game last season. The video starts on Copacabana's car-free Sunday among NFL displays and jerseys, then moves to Maracanã. Steve wore a Jason Witten jersey for luck. It did not work: Dallas lost to Baltimore with the ball on the goal line in the final seconds. His chapter titles ask whether Brian Schottenheimer is "Jason Garrett 2.0." Still, he calls the Brazilian fans the real story, and says they sang along to every Brazilian song in the stadium.
Two trips with Steve's mom are also still drawing viewers: her first Ethiopian meal in Toronto, raw beef and coffee ceremony included, and a first visit to Panama City that ended with the promise of Rio.
With no new upload, the channel ran well below its usual daily pace and held at 439,000 subscribers. Among travel channels of a similar size, Chris Howett had the busiest week by far, while em, level with JetLag Warriors on subscribers, also drew plenty of views.
