Camp David, diesel and Iran: Rifat Jawaid's three-video week

Each of the week's uploads crossed 180,000 views, while an 11-day-old clip of Iceland's foreign minister answering Benjamin Netanyahu at the UN is past 860,000.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Rifat Jawaid, the veteran journalist who founded Janta Ka Reporter, spent the week on one story told in three chapters: Donald Trump and the war with Iran.

The first, posted on September 30, followed a US counter-proposal that the description says Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff sent to Tehran through Qatari mediators. Two days later came "Trump’s ‘Doomsday’ backfires: begs Europe for oil as Iran war hits US | Janta Ka Reporter," about oil prices after the Strait of Hormuz blockade and an appeal to Europe to release diesel reserves. It became the week's most watched upload, at close to 290,000 views. The third, on a reported secret Camp David meeting involving JD Vance, sits almost level with it in total and is the one viewers keep finding now. Its description notes that one clip had to be removed at YouTube's request.

All three opened strongly, but the channel as a whole is running well below its usual daily pace. It added about a thousand subscribers.

The back catalog still has a standout. Iceland's foreign minister, Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, answering Netanyahu's "moral cowards" remark at the General Assembly is the channel's biggest recent video and keeps adding views.

Among news channels of a similar size, it gained the third-most views this week. The Financial Express is having by far the biggest week in the group, Palace Confidential and New York Times Podcasts are running above their usual pace, and The Free Press is quieter than usual.
