Indisputable has been running quieter than usual lately, but two of its segments from the start of the week left that pace far behind. The first and larger of them is "Black Mother ASSAULTED By Road Raging Motorcyclist." A regular Indisputable segment usually ends its first day at around 14,000 views. This one reached roughly 75,000.
The story it covers is short and hard to watch. A man on a motorcycle followed a Black mother who was driving with her daughter in the car. Near 4700 Preston Highway, he got off his bike, spat at her car and smashed the driver's-side window. Then he grabbed her by the hair, pulled her out of the vehicle and beat her with a steering-wheel lock. The description credits Dr. Rashad Richey with the discussion, in a show that bills itself as built around criminal justice, policing and civil rights.
The comments arrived at about ten times the usual rate, and two questions run through nearly all of them. Many viewers ask how people could watch the attack, and in some cases film it, without anyone stepping in. Many others ask why the man has not been arrested, and several turn their attention to the local police chief.
The second segment that ran far ahead came a day later: the story of a Black teenager at the top of his class who was placed on house arrest for a carjacking he did not commit, and who had to give up his job as a pharmacy technician while he waited.
