Black flared sweatpants lose their legs and gain a completely different silhouette in I_thriftflip's sewing Short, which drew roughly 1.3 million views since yesterday.
The London creator cuts away the original waistband, then borrows fabric from an old white knit top for a low-rise foldover band. The discarded trouser legs aren't discarded at all: sliced into strips, they supply the skirt's black ruffles, with white lace peeking out underneath.
There's a practical workaround tucked into the fast edit. "I don't have an overlocker, so I'll zigzag the edges," the text-to-speech voiceover explains. Stretching elastic as she sews gathers the fabric strips before she attaches them to the skirt and models the result.
The Short is marked as a paid partnership with Whatnot, where she says she bought the sweatpants.
Among the familiar sound-effect jokes in the comments is a more personal sewing story: one viewer says the channel gave them the courage to turn old jeans into a skirt for a concert.
