What makes a road worth returning to after two decades? Harry Metcalfe brings his Jaguar Project 7 to the mountain bends of Gran Sasso, then pulls out magazine photographs of the two Pagani Zondas he once drove there. The cars have changed; the sweeping, sparsely inhabited landscape supplies the connection.

That journey is the only new upload on Harry's garage this week. "6-day road trip special from Tuscany to Athens in my Jaguar P7 on the best roads I know." has reached about 220,000 views and is currently the channel's busiest video.

Before the climb, there is a stop at Tenuta Lamborghini, with tractors, vineyards and handmade tortellini with truffles. On the motorway, Harry finds a less exotic pleasure in the supercharged Jaguar: proper ventilation buttons and unexpectedly good fuel economy. Out on the country roads, the local Fiat Pandas get almost as much attention as the scenery. "Fiat Panda: invincible in Italy," he declares.

The comments pick up on those particular pleasures: paper maps, the Panda digression and the sound of the Project 7. Several viewers ask for a road-trip book; another is tempted to try the journey in a Skoda Yeti. The itinerary clearly needn't come with a supercharged V8.

Across the channel, subscribers increased by around a thousand over the week, although daily viewing is currently well below its usual level. Harry's garage nevertheless had the third-largest weekly views gain among its nearby motoring peers, with George J Saliba having a particularly busy week.

Behind the road trip, Harry's Jaguar Type 01 assessment remains the next busiest upload, followed by his Ferrari 12 Cilindri Manuale review on Tuscany's Futa and Raticosa passes. Italian roads have supplied rather a lot of this garage's recent conversation.
