What happens when Gustav Iden calls a workout "a fun one"? GTN's Tom and Mark find themselves facing ten kilometre repetitions, followed by ten more over four hundred metres. Fun is doing quite a lot of work there.
"We Tried The Pros' Toughest Run Sessions" was Global Triathlon Network's most-watched new upload, reaching about 34,000 views. Interviews in Kona supply the assignments: Iden and Kristian Blummenfelt offer the track session, while Heather chooses Solveig Løvseth's threshold workout and takes it indoors onto a treadmill. Julie Derron also shares her training experience.
Out on the windy track, the gap between a professional's suggestion and a presenter's afternoon becomes tangible. Mark stops the kilometre block with two repetitions remaining; Tom completes it before they regroup for the shorter efforts. "I weirdly enjoyed it," Tom says afterwards. In the comments, Mark's appearance becomes a talking point of its own, alongside suggestions for future sessions from Alex Yee and reflections on how difficult an unfinished speed workout can feel.
There was little easing off elsewhere in the eleven-upload week. "We Attempted Our Hardest and Highest Triathlon Ever" sends Tom and Heather from a Pacific Ocean swim towards Mauna Kea's summit, exchanging tropical warmth for near-freezing conditions. It is now the channel's busiest video, drawing new views considerably faster than the track challenge. The GTN Show, meanwhile, asks whether triathletes train more than other endurance athletes.
The subscriber audience held steady, while the channel added roughly 580,000 views across the week. Its daily viewing is currently above its usual level. Between the treadmill, the track and the volcano, GTN gave viewers three distinctly different settings for finding their limits.

So happy to finally see mark
@satyaprakashkarsharma6084See it on YouTubeThey say no run is bad but when I fail a speed workout in the plan it can easily feel like I failed the entire workout.
Congrats on doing this. Amazing speeds all of you.@angrymikkoSee it on YouTubeI might be the odd one out, but I never run to/for distance eg it’s a 60 minute recovery run rather than a 12km, or 8x8:00 rather than 8x2km. Makes planning time for sessions easier, and your volume naturally scales to your fitness level.

You all need to do some of Alex Yee‘s run sessions or maybe Sam Laidlows bike session
@DavidFritzIIISee it on YouTubeSo after watching this i will try this workout, but modified to 5x1k + 5x400m. Impressive work, Team GTN !🥇
@Sensenmann2001See it on YouTubeWow, Tom's running form is really inspiring
@gabrielbraga6749See it on YouTubeWell done to the boys doing that on a track. I am a trail runner but recently tried doing one of my workouts on a track. An hour and a half on the track beat me up more than a 3 hour trail run with vert. Well done to you all, those workouts sound really hard.
