George Clarkey gives The Hoxton's smallest room an unexpectedly generous first impression: "The Shoebox, which, dare I say, is quite spacious." There are smaller beds ahead, but his hotel experiment isn't simply about squeezing himself into increasingly confined spaces.
In "Every Day the Hotel Gets Smaller", each stop comes with three jobs: sleep, find something to eat and become a tourist. The British Museum supplies a frog souvenir; Tilgate Zoo supplies an owl call. At Gatwick's YotelAIR, a closed restaurant means convenience-store food back in the room. The video also includes a sponsored Vinted segment.
Then there is "The George Scale", his self-described, freshly invented measure of comfort, use of space and value. The airport room earns a higher overall score than The Hoxton despite an uncomfortable night's sleep, a useful wrinkle in the question of whether smaller necessarily means worse.
His only upload this week has reached nearly 480,000 views and accounts for almost half the channel's current daily viewing. Viewers are also connecting the dollhouse introduction to his earlier preparations, while one shares a family memory of buying the same museum frog print.
The audience grew by 3,000 subscribers across the week. Among nearby challenge channels, JakeTheJuice had a much busier viewing week, while Almost Family Friendly recorded a similar subscriber gain to George.
Behind the hotels, "We Judged our Own Talent Show 2", featuring Arthur Hill, ArthurTV and ChrisMD, remains his next busiest video. Even the trained-versus-untrained marathon experiment from months ago continues to bring in views.
