Patrick Christys Tonight, the evening of October 7's third anniversary
The full two-hour recording of Wednesday's show ran far ahead of GB News' other long uploads, and Lee Anderson's 'traitors' remark led the channel's Shorts.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 95,659 views a day, 14 times a normal first day on this channel (6,793).
Patrick Christys Tonight | Wednesday 7th October
The whole show drew a crowd. GB News posts its evening programs as complete recordings, and those long uploads usually end their first day with only a few thousand views. Wednesday's edition of Patrick Christys Tonight passed 38,000 in its first six hours. Its likes tell the same story: it has already collected several times what a full recording here usually gathers in an entire day.
The description bills the program as two hours of debate and interviews with top guests, but it does not name them. The date in the title carries some weight of its own. Wednesday, October 7, marked three years since the Hamas attack on Israel in 2023. On the same day the channel posted a separate clip of Christys reacting to pro-Palestine marches held on the anniversary. That clip is nearing 45,000 views, a little ahead of the full show so far.
The day's other fast mover was much shorter. In a Short taken from his conversation with Martin Daubney, Lee Anderson, the Reform UK MP, calls Westminster backbenchers traitors and says at least a third of them are treacherous. Asked about joining forces with the Conservatives if the next general election produced a hung Parliament, he ruled it out, saying he could not see how Reform could do a deal with them. Anderson sat on the Conservative side himself until 2024, when he crossed over to Reform. The clip ran at about five times the pace of a usual GB News Short.
All of this came on a day when the channel as a whole was running well below its normal pace. The later edition of Christys' program, billed as tomorrow's news tonight, has stayed in the thousands. For now it is the main Wednesday broadcast that people are opening.

The numbers
The full recording started far faster than GB News' long uploads usually do, even though the channel as a whole was having a quieter day.
