This Is Getting RIDICULOUS, Sony…
Jared Polin packed camera kits and drove to Asbury Park, New Jersey. The newest Fund-A-Photographer video follows him from curating the bags to surprising Danny Clinch with them. Clinch has been handing the program's gear to young photographers in and around the town, and this was a fresh delivery of Canon bodies and lenses for more students. The chapters end with the two of them looking back at their own first cameras.
Clinch is a fitting partner. His portraits and album covers of Bruce Springsteen, Tupac Shakur, Johnny Cash and Pearl Jam are part of rock history, and he has deep roots at the Jersey Shore, where the Asbury Park scene is his home turf.
The rest of the week was news. Two Photo News Fix episodes bracketed it. The first rounded up a Canon R7 Mark II rumor, another delay for Sony's FX5 and Nikon's viewfinder-free Z5IIc, and it passed 100,000 views. The second, eight hours old, asks whether a Sony a7S IV registration is real and wonders what Sigma has planned for October 24. It is already the channel's fastest-moving video. RAWtalk 210 explained a three-week podcast absence before Jared and Stephen dug into the R8 Mark II.
That R8 Mark II review, sixteen days old and asking whether Canon ruined one of Jared's favorite cameras, has passed 220,000 views. Overall the channel ran at roughly half its usual daily pace. Several of its neighbors in the photography and craft group were quieter too, Minibricks and CrAZy . aRT among them, while Nakshi Kantha World stayed a touch above its norm.
