's analysis of the fatal Florida private jet crash begins before the aircraft left Austin: what weather information did the pilots have, and how did they plan to avoid thunderstorms?

In a Fox & Friends interview with Ainsley Earhardt, the former investigator adds a pilot-decision perspective to the discovery of aircraft parts far from the impact site. Fox reports that nine people died on the flight, which was bound for the Bahamas.

The segment includes NTSB member Tom Chapman's briefing on pieces of the left elevator found miles from the wreckage. "Some pieces of the aircraft, important pieces of the aircraft, separated before the impact," Chapman says.

Feith considers that evidence alongside flight tracking showing a rapid descent and a brief leveling off around 8,000 feet. The important distinction is between evidence of an in-flight breakup and an explanation of what caused it. He says metal testing and cockpit voice recorder evidence are needed to reconstruct the sequence.

"This accident sequence really started before the aircraft took off out of Austin," Feith says, turning to preflight weather briefings. He explains that pilots typically seek at least 20 miles of separation from severe thunderstorm cells, then identifies training, operational discipline and cockpit communication as areas investigators need to examine.

The interview has drawn roughly 530,000 views since yesterday. Its central unanswered question is not simply where the parts landed, but how weather, aircraft stress and the crew's actions fit together.
