Grok says Musk deleted his Republican voting appeal
Forbes examines apparently removed election posts, with Musk's own chatbot supplying an answer to the deletion question.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 63,075 views a day, 39 times a normal first day on this channel (1,623).
Did Musk Delete His 'Vote Red Today!' Post? Grok Says Yes After Major Republican Losses
The appeal appears gone. Forbes reports that Elon Musk seems to have deleted posts urging Americans to vote Republican after Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress.
The particular wrinkle in this report is who answers the question. Isabel Togoh, Forbes Breaking News deputy editor, says Grok answered "True" when asked whether Musk had removed his election-day voting appeal. The report shows a capture of the chatbot's response, alongside its account of other apparently deleted messages, including an October post backing Republican senators.
That is Grok's answer, rather than a direct acknowledgment from Musk. Togoh also recounts his satirical post-election remarks about space lasers and putting data centers in space, setting the apparently removed appeals beside the jokes he continued to publish.
The Short reached roughly 46,000 views in its first half-day, a much faster start than Forbes' usual Shorts. It follows the channel's earlier coverage of Musk's election spending, but shifts the focus from campaign money to his public messages after the results.
Another Forbes upload drawing unusual attention features Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa discussing Musk in a CNN interview. Together, the reports put his post-election words and his relationship with Texas under the channel's spotlight.

The numbers
The deletion report is running well ahead of Forbes' usual Shorts pace. Its Hinojosa interview is also drawing an unusually large audience for the channel's regular videos.
