Forbes asks what Musk's $458 million bought in the midterms

A follow-up on election spending arrives as the channel's daily views climb to nearly eleven times their usual level.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 2,657,130 views a day, 11 times a normal day (247,444).

Forbes usually draws a few hundred thousand views a day. Its latest daily total is closer to 2.7 million, a sharp lift as its coverage moves from billionaires' election-night reactions to the spending behind those results.

The channel's roundup of those reactions drew a large audience, as we reported here. Its new follow-up, "Elon's ROI: $458 Million Didn't Buy Much In The Midterms," asks what Elon Musk's campaign spending actually achieved. Forbes cites Federal Election Commission filings and other reporting for the sum, then contrasts the scale of his support with Republicans' disappointing results.

Politics is only part of the channel's new lineup. In "How This Founder Made A Steak Product Using ChatGPT," Eben Bayer, co-founder of Ecovative and My Forest Foods, describes using the chatbot to formulate a plant-based mycelium steak. His role was to supply the sensory feedback the software couldn't provide: effectively serving as its mouth while it worked through flavor and diffusion problems.

That is a distinctly Forbes pairing: the return on a billionaire's political spending, and a founder trying to turn an AI conversation into dinner.
