Lisa almost always doubles her recipes. Cooking for eleven makes that practical rather than extravagant, and Farmhouse on Boone's only new upload this week follows the meals well beyond the first serving.
In "What we eat in a week as a family of 11", she starts with chicken, shrimp and sausage gumbo, then moves through stuffed pasta shells, Salisbury steak and braised beef shanks. Cornbread crumbs go into the steak patties; leftover mashed potatoes become the base for another dinner. Freshly milled whole-grain rolls join roasted chickens and sweet potato casserole, with her husband and children helping in the kitchen. The video includes a sponsored segment for Nourish.
There is room for a very ordinary kitchen confession amid all that cooking: "To be honest, I do not enjoy frying. It is such a mess." Viewers have plenty of alternatives for the okra, suggesting roasting, grilling and tomato-based stews. One remembers a mother serving it in mashed potatoes and calling the dish Christmas trees in the snow. Others ask for a broader recipe cookbook and Lisa's knife-sharpening secret.
The upload has passed 200,000 views and is currently the channel's busiest video. "Tour our brand new house that looks old!" and "Keeping a home with 9 kids" are also drawing substantial daily viewing, keeping the new farmhouse and its everyday routines in the picture.
Subscribers held steady over the week, while daily views are slightly above the channel's usual level. Nearby in size, Vanwives is enjoying a much larger viewing lift. For Lisa, the week's activity centers on something less elaborate than a house tour: getting several homemade dinners onto a very full table.

When I was little, my mother would boil okra and put it in mashed potatoes. She called it Christmas trees in the snow. I didn’t like it, but now I love some stewed okra and tomatoes or fried okra.
@Jan-xp8yiSee it on YouTubeThe smell of my mom's kitchen growing up, you never forget.
@shirleygermain5707See it on YouTubeWould you please consider making a cookbook with all the recipes on your website? I refer to your sourdough cookbook on a DAILY basis, and I’d love one for all the rest of the recipes as well!!

I grow okra and we love it roasted. Cut stem off, cut it in half, drizzle with oil and salt and pepper and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes or so on 400 degrees. So good!
@lainemelton3492See it on YouTubeHere in Greece we make okra stew. Beyond delicious!
@amandagabriel7294See it on YouTubeLisa, how do you keep your knives so sharp?? I don’t have a cheap set of knives, yet I catch myself having to sharpen them constantly. I see in your videos the ease of cutting up peppers and onions with your knives and I was just wondering are you having to sharpen them frequently or what’s your secret?
@Marlee_LestinSee it on YouTubeMy mouth is watering- especially for the beef shanks. Thanks again for sharing your life.
@DebbieCostello-e5ySee it on YouTubeI agree with you, frying is very messy and I don't do it very often.
@KimAcker-y6qSee it on YouTubeIn Egypt we make an okra stew with a tomato base and stew meat. You can make it easily in the instant pot. Served with rice. Really delicious 😍
