Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Every guy batting out of his league

Among the comedy sketch channels near its size, Fairbairn Films keeps the quietest daily numbers, with views in the tens of thousands where neighbors like Sophia & Noelle count theirs in the millions. That is not a slump: the brothers' channel is drawing almost exactly what it usually does, and DarrenLevyOfficial is the one in the group having the standout week, running at about twice his normal pace.

Lachlan and Jaxon Fairbairn put up four sketches, each built on a type everyone has met. There was the guy batting out of his league, two guys sent out to buy girl products, the relief of finally making a friend at work, and, newest of all, the couple who have been together since high school.

That last one is the busiest video on the channel right now. In under a day it gathered more views than the work-friend sketch has managed in three. The shopping-errand skit had the strongest first day of the earlier three and is still pulling in more each day than the out-of-his-league guy, even though that one has the larger total.

The subscriber count held still, which for a channel with more than a million and a half subscribers and a steady habit of short character sketches looks more like a pause in growth than a step back.
