From Baghaei's briefing room to Albuquerque's balloons: DRM News's fifteen uploads

The independent news channel spent its Sunday on Iran, Brazil's vote, a carrier in Phuket and a Yemen offensive, then opened Monday with a sky full of hot air balloons.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

More than nine million views. That is what DRM News added over the week, more than any other channel in its group of news networks and broadcasters, and enough to add about 5,000 subscribers to a count now close to 963,000.

Fifteen uploads went up, and Sunday alone reads like a world map. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei briefed reporters live from Tehran, and that stream became the week's most watched new video in only a few hours. A live camera sat on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach as Brazilians voted for president. Another followed the USS George H.W. Bush into Phuket. Friedrich Merz's visit to Kyiv, with €6.5 billion in defense and energy deals and Volodymyr Zelenskiy's warning about North Korea, got its own report, as did the Saudi-backed Yemeni government's offensive against the Houthis.

Then, on Monday, something gentler: the Mass Ascension at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, streamed live as hundreds of balloons lifted off over New Mexico. It is the lightest thing on the channel all week, and it picked up thousands of views in its first hour.

The daily pace sits somewhat below what the channel usually sees. Around it, the group was mixed: Fox News Clips and BBC Politics ran well ahead of their usual days, while FOX Weather and WLA were quieter. For DRM News, the week's total still leads the group, built one live feed at a time.
