'Did you take con law?': John Kennedy's rapid-fire questions for Jack Smith
A day after the Ted Cruz exchange, Hook Global's cut of the Louisiana senator's turn at the same Judiciary Committee hearing is moving even faster.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 287,680 views a day, 14 times a normal first day on this channel (21,230).
'Did You Take Con Law?': Jack Smith Expertly Dismantles Kennedy’s Bizarre Rapid-Fire Trump Questions
A new upload on Hook Global usually ends its first day with around 21,000 views. Senator John Kennedy's turn with Jack Smith passed 190,000 in its first twelve hours.
It comes from the same Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that gave the channel Smith's answers to Ted Cruz, as we reported here. This time the questioner is the Louisiana Republican, and the title borrows a pointed line, "Did You Take Con Law?", while billing Smith's replies as an expert dismantling of what it calls Kennedy's "bizarre" rapid-fire questions.
The chapter list maps the ten minutes. Kennedy opens by challenging Smith's character. He then moves through Smith's defense of the International Criminal Court, political bias, how Smith came to be appointed special counsel, whether he wanted Biden to win, and who approved the prosecution of Donald Trump. The later chapters turn to the collection of Republican senators' phone records and to the Constitution's Speech or Debate Clause, before what the description calls Kennedy's final accusation.
The comments piled up quickly, more than 750 in half a day, and several commenters introduce themselves as Louisiana voters. A second clip from the hearing, featuring Democratic lawmakers, has drawn far fewer views. On a channel whose about page promises geopolitics and global affairs, a speech by India's foreign minister in Munich is still waiting for its audience. For a second weekend running, the committee room in Washington is doing the work.
