DRM News posted the NTSB's final on-site briefing on the fatal Palm Beach County Learjet crash, with investigators explaining how they work through wreckage that is largely in small pieces.
Rather than physically rebuilding an entire aircraft, investigators typically map recovered components to understand where they belong. Asked about the fragments found so far, the NTSB official said: "They're almost entirely very small pieces, so we don't really even in most cases know what it is we've found."
The briefing confirms that parts of the tail separated before impact, with elevator debris recovered miles from the main crater. That finding does not establish what caused the crash. Weather, crew certifications and aircraft maintenance remain under investigation, while teams continue the difficult search for the flight recorders.
"Weather is certainly a key focus of the investigation," the official said. Collecting maintenance and crew records from an off-site office, the spokesperson explained, is standard procedure.
The full briefing drew about 101,000 views in its first seven hours, far beyond DRM News's usual opening-day audience for regular videos. Its value is in the questions and answers: what investigators have recovered, what they are still trying to identify, and how those pieces will be examined.
Near the end, Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo also said the local county airport had received no interference or reports of interference.
