"Blocking A Fire Truck Goes Wrong!": a New York standoff, and firefighters explain the rules
The clip came from the blocking driver's own camera, and that detail has many viewers asking why anyone would share it.
Why this story? The video drew 616 comments in its first day, 6.9 times a normal first day on this channel (89).
Blocking A Fire Truck Goes Wrong!
Dash Crash Cam lives on a steady run of titles that end in "Goes Wrong!": a road rage driver who slid off the highway beside a semi, a brake check that pulled several cars into the wreckage, a public official whose badge did not get her out of a dashcam's view. The newest, "Blocking A Fire Truck Goes Wrong!", has its views in the usual range for the clips channel. Its comment section is far from usual.
The Short is simple to describe. In New York traffic, a driver refuses to back up or pull aside for a fire engine on an emergency call. The fire truck pushes through anyway. The description calls it instant karma, and points out the twist that keeps the comments busy: all of it was filmed on the stubborn driver's own camera.
That has viewers puzzling. A recurring question underneath is why someone would keep footage like this, let alone let it reach the internet, and a few suspect the driver expected the audience to take his side. Another thread belongs to people who have sat in the other seat. A retired fire captain explains that crews can and will push a car out of the way when the call demands it. A former firefighter recalls his own department meeting the same thing once, and others add that insurance will not pay for that kind of damage. Many simply say the driver should lose his license.
In just over a day, the comments came in about seven times faster than on a usual first day for one of the channel's Shorts, close to 800 by now. The views have kept pace with a good week, too: the fire truck clip has already passed the trucker road rage video posted the day before.

What viewers say
As a retired Captain, we can AND WILL push your car out of the way depending on the emergency. Then you will be arrested and found at fault as well as being the town heel
@psinclairjrSee it on YouTubeI was a fireman for 15 years [till I moved]. Our dept encountered same thing once. Crash pushed other vehicle completely out of the way. Police took blocking driver to Jail car towed. 90 days plus a hefty fine.
@1949davidifySee it on YouTubeThe fact that we get to see the drivers pov cam, i would assume they probably thought the internet was gonna be on their side when they posted it online

They will ram you out of the way if they have to, and insurance won't cover the repairs
