Sen. Jon Ossoff opens with diesel. "Now maybe you saw Trump so desperate he's begging Putin for diesel," the Georgia Democrat tells a rally crowd, and from there he builds toward the two names in the title of C-SPAN's excerpt.
The clip comes from the network's "Road to the Capitol" coverage of Ossoff's reelection campaign. In it, he reminds the crowd who Jared Kushner is ("the president's son-in-law, the so-called special envoy") and then lays out his central accusation. Kushner and Steve Witkoff, he says, are negotiating with Vladimir Putin to sell Russian oil fields, refineries and gas stations to the president's friends. He brings up Witkoff's crypto business ties too.
The list grows from there. Ossoff names Sheikh Tahnoon, the Al-Khayat brothers and a resort project in Albania, then turns to Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth, saying government money is being steered toward Trump family ventures. "They are literally the elites they pretend to hate," he says.
The ending is what draws the loudest cheers. Ossoff tells the people he has named that next year they will be raising their right hands and swearing to tell the truth in front of Congress. It is a promise made from a campaign stage, and the excerpt does not say how it would come about.
The clip drew roughly a quarter of a million views in its first day, many times more than the channel's usual regular upload. Its comments came in dozens of times faster than on a usual first day. Much of the talk is about corruption, campaign money and whether Ossoff has a future beyond the Senate.
Rubio had a busy day on the channel as well. Two Shorts of the secretary of state also started fast. In one, he says the defense product Starshield is "not at this moment available to Ukraine." In the other, he responds to the attack on reporter Heidi Levine in the West Bank.
