A quick weave that became braids, from a Pittsburgh stylist, on Coral_Jam

The hair clip channel posted 15 videos over the week and sits a few million views short of 400 million in total.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Coral_Jam is closing in on 400 million total views, and the clip pulling hardest this week is one where the plan fell apart. "things don't always go the way we expected" comes from karisma747, a home-based stylist in Pittsburgh, according to the description. The clip starts as a quick weave with leave out and ends in braids.

The comments are about that switch. Many viewers think the leave out simply would not blend, so the braids were the rescue. A large share say the braids suit her better anyway. One popular joke compares the whole thing to setting out to make an omelette and ending up with scrambled eggs. Others are thinking of the client, who sat through an install, a takedown and then a full braiding session. The clip passed 470,000 views in five days, the most of the week.

The channel reposts other people's clips with credits, and not all of them are hair. Of the 15 uploads, the newest is a school spirit week outfit clip from queenyonceeek that drew about 190,000 views on its first day. A pair of homemade Balenciaga slides also found a big crowd early.

Overall the pace was slower than the channel's usual, and it added about 1,000 subscribers. Among the vlog and daily-life channels near its size, it still gained the second most views of the week. Only Girl Truck Routine, with its silent trucking vlogs, gained more.
