The hinge held up. On day five of CNET's iPhone Duo test, lab director Matthew Murray reported no visible damage, screen degradation or detectable change in hinge resistance after more than 140,000 folds.
The custom-built FoldBot supplied the repetition; Murray supplied the inspection and chat answers. He stopped the machine, switched off the display and brought the camera close enough for viewers to examine the crease. Hardware endurance wasn't the only issue: he also described rebooting the phone to clear a lag in the transition between its inner and outer screens.
That day-five livestream was the most-watched of CNET's fifteen uploads this week, reaching roughly 208,000 views. Viewers asked about hinge smoothness and heat from repeated folding, while others questioned the rig's gentleness and wanted testing comparable to the original Galaxy Fold. Murray addressed the thin braided wire used to open the device and explained that testing continues off-camera through the weekend. "We're going to test it until it breaks," he said.
Apple supplied another hands-on subject in "Poking Apple's Touchscreen MacBook Pro: What Actually Impressed Me," with Bridget Carey examining the tandem OLED display and changes to touch navigation. Elsewhere, Jesse Orrall and Antuan Goodwin questioned the flying-car label attached to Tesla's Roadster.
The older Roadster reveal remains CNET's strongest daily draw, with Andy Altman's new visit to SLAC's X-ray laser close behind. Across the channel, weekly views topped three million and subscribers stayed level, though the current daily viewing rate is about half its usual level. Nearby in the gadget group, JayzTwoCents had a slightly larger viewing week, while Dave2D was quieter than usual.
For CNET, the week's most absorbing experiment required no spectacular launch: just a phone, a counter and Murray checking what thousands of repetitions had changed.

It'll survive 259,357 folds. That's my guess.
