20 Actors vs Adam Deacon: Who’s The Chosen One? Ft. Nella, Harry & Darkest

Adam Deacon has the BAFTA; Nella Rose, Harry Pinero and Darkest Man have opinions. Channel 4.0's new edition of The Chosen One puts them together to judge aspiring actors, with Cowshed Collective producing the show.

The description promises monologues, proposals to Nella and performances inspired by Tariq St. Patrick, the Power character whose family drama continued in Power Book II: Ghost. Deacon, known for Kidulthood and for directing and starring in Anuvahood, brings experience on both sides of the camera. The episode has drawn roughly 94,000 views since Thursday.

It arrived in a busy week of thirteen uploads, although a much shorter exchange supplied the biggest audience. "Flirting in French - YES!" has reached about 3.7 million views and remains the channel's strongest daily draw. The Parisian woman's calm declaration that stress has no place in her routine, followed by a rather less calm response to her flirting, continues to fill the comments. Viewers are discussing both the line and Nella's switch into French.

The channel added subscribers over the week, while today's viewing is comfortably above its usual level. Among the nearby television and streaming channels, it had the largest weekly view gain. Brooklyn Nine-Nine and HGTV are also enjoying above-usual daily viewing; FOX is having a quieter spell.

For Channel 4.0, the week's range is neatly captured by those two encounters: performers trying to impress an experienced actor, and a Parisian guest making an impression without apparently trying very hard.
