Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 382,691 views a day, 24 times a normal first day on this channel (16,016).

This is hands down Heidi Klum's best Halloween costume. 😱

"Oh my God, you look unbelievable!" a reporter tells Heidi Klum. The greeting is ordinary celebrity-carpet chatter. Its recipient is a giant severed hand, complete with red nail polish, rings and a fleshy opening containing Klum's face.

The E! News Short follows her along the blue carpet, surrounded by handlers in yellow hazmat suits and respirators. They help her move toward the entrance while photographers capture the costume from behind. The entourage makes the arrival look less like a fashion entrance than a containment operation.

The clip has passed 400,000 views after roughly a day, far beyond the channel's usual start for a Short. Its comment section is also more than twenty times busier than usual. Viewers are picking out the jewelry, wondering how eating or drinking could work inside the construction, and finding almost every available way to make a hand pun. Several say Klum's teasers hadn't prepared them for the reveal.

E! News has also posted daughter Leni Klum's reaction to the costume, another upload drawing an unusually large early audience. But the main clip needs very little explanation: a reporter greets Heidi, the hand keeps moving, and the hazmat crew accompanies her inside.

It's the ring set on the fingers that is so awesome. :)
