CHANEL checks into the Ritz for five lip-balm moods
The brand's four-upload week pairs a Paris hotel campaign with SYCOMORE and a holiday-world introduction.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The new 31 LE ROUGE Lip Balm.
CHANEL opens the door marked "Suite Coco Chanel," then moves from a sleep mask to a tweed jacket, a sparkling red suit and a bathtub accessorized with pearls. Its most-watched new upload, "The new 31 LE ROUGE Lip Balm.", is a commercial that compresses a hotel day's changing looks into half a minute.
Set at the Ritz Paris, the film assigns a shade to each scene: pink at waking, beige beside an old-fashioned telephone, garnet at the window. By the time the balm lands on an embroidered pillow, the room has served as bedroom, dressing room and campaign set. The upload has reached roughly 17,000 views, the strongest total among the week's new releases.
A second upload with the same title joined it, alongside "SYCOMORE, a fragrance envisioned by Gabrielle Chanel." and an introduction to the brand's enchanted holiday world. The first balm film also has the most daily momentum among the highlighted videos, followed by SYCOMORE. Just outside the week's releases, "Next destination." continues the fragrance itinerary with PARIS - ST. MORITZ, created by Olivier Polge.
Across the channel, the week brought nearly 25 million views, although its current daily viewing pace is well below its usual level. Subscribers held steady. That weekly viewing total was the largest among the luxury houses here; Louis Vuitton and GUCCI also had steady subscriber counts, while Christian Dior added subscribers. For CHANEL, the new-release story is smaller and more intimate than that channel-wide scale: a telephone, a Paris window and five changes of shade.
