A sneeze, a cake and a no-signal TV: CashPlays' one upload
The single new video, posted September 26, has passed 366,000 views, and its comment section is mostly timestamps.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
DON’T DROP THE CAKE
Cash posted exactly one video in seven days, "DON'T DROP THE CAKE," and the title is the whole brief: carry the cake, keep it upright. The tags put it in the usual company of the Cash and Nico world, with Shady, Zoey and Mia among the names, and Cash himself is the one trying to balance.
If the comments are any guide, the cake did not have an easy ride. Viewers trade timestamps like a map of the disasters: Cash seeming to jinx himself in the opening seconds, a dramatic turn on the way to a television with no signal, a jump scare, and a moment around the twenty-minute mark where a sneeze sends the cake down. Several people point out they had never heard him really scream before, and one sums up the video's mood swings as horror game, then sad game, then a song, because Cash apparently breaks into one for a moment.
The cake video is the channel's busiest right now, but two older ones keep it company. "I HAVE TO HIDE IN REAL LIFE.." has passed a million views in a little over two weeks, and "I Voiced Over MOVIE SCENES...", a month old, sits just ahead of it in total.
With only one new upload, the channel's daily views are running below their usual level. Even so, the week added close to four million views and 10,000 subscribers, the most views gained by any of the let's-play and variety channels nearest his size, Northernlion and The Boys Gaming next behind. Northernlion and Blarg are the ones running hottest against their own usual pace, while chuggaaconroy is having a quieter stretch.
