Andrew Klavan made room for a different kind of argument amid the election coverage: what Agatha Christie understood about people who convince themselves they're doing good.
His guest, retired psychiatrist and prison doctor Theodore Dalrymple, brings that question to his book, Agatha Christie and the Metaphysics of Murder. He treats Christie's accessible storytelling as something more substantial than a pleasant puzzle. "She is light reading, of course," he says. "I don't think she would have sold quite so many if she'd been Schopenhauer."
The conversation turns to the moral shortcuts beneath those plots. Dalrymple argues that good intentions do not make every action good, using The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side to examine kindness that causes harm. For Klavan, himself a mystery novelist, this is familiar literary territory rather than a detour into an unrelated subject. Several viewers recall reading Christie as teenagers; others pick up on the firm moral boundaries they find in her stories.
The interview reached about 32,000 views, the most of the week's new uploads. Elsewhere, Klavan questioned Christian objections to Halloween, discussed Republican midterm prospects with Henry Olsen and joined The Daily Wire's sponsored election-night coverage alongside Cabot Phillips, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles.
It was a slower stretch for the channel overall. Subscribers slipped slightly over the week, and daily viewing is running at less than half its usual level. Nearby political channels including Hawk's Podcasts and Dan Wootton Outspoken had substantially busier weeks for views.
The newest Musk-themed political commentary and the Olsen interview currently draw views fastest, but the Christie conversation remains among Klavan's busiest uploads: a sustained place for books amid the campaign talk.

What viewers say
I read nearly all of Agatha Christie's novels once upon a time as a teenager. They definitely were not modern in the sense that I ever felt like I should be feeling sorry for the murderer or that they were justified. A strong moral through-line was always there. I appreciate that more and more as moral relativism in storytelling has become the norm.
