Maya Higa feeds Roxy small meat treats through the chain-link fence, pairing an affectionate introduction with a pointed explanation of why wolfdogs need places like Alveus Sanctuary.

In "Meet our new rescued wolfdog! #mayahiga #alveus #animals", Maya says Roxy is more wolf than dog, although a DNA test is still needed to establish her exact ancestry. The problem she describes is an awkward in-between existence: partly domestic animals that cannot be released into the wild, but whose wolf instincts can make life as a household pet unsuitable.

Her argument comes back to the dogs people already have, in all their shapes and sizes. Why deliberately breed an animal that fits neither world comfortably? In the comments, viewers share experiences of caring for wolfdogs and discuss the difference between admiring one and being equipped to keep one.

Roxy's introduction was the most watched of five new uploads, reaching roughly 223,000 views. New chickens also got a welcome, while "The Crisis You Don't See (YET)" brought conservationists into the week's mix. Pokimane's return supplied both "Pokimane FINALLY Reunites With Our Animals" and a separate scorpion-trick clip. The streamer reunion and Roxy's introduction are currently the channel's busiest uploads.

Alveus added 3,000 subscribers over the week, though that was a slower pace than across the preceding month. Daily viewing is now more than twice its usual level. Among nearby animal channels, The Reptile Zoo had a particularly busy week, while Australia Zoo also drew above-usual daily viewing. Alveus's own week combined the familiar guest-tour format with a new resident whose welcome doubled as a conservation lesson.
