Emily Jashinsky's second day on the 'Cornell 7' case turns to Letitia James
Her follow-up to a long breakdown of the case drew more comments in seven hours than her videos usually gather in a full day.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 42,006 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (3,599).
Leticia James Just PROVED The 'Cornell 7' Case Is Spiraling Out Of Control
"Leticia James Just PROVED The 'Cornell 7' Case Is Spiraling Out Of Control" is Emily Jashinsky's second video on the case in two days. Its one-line description calls it a reaction to new updates. The title names New York Attorney General Letitia James and states Jashinsky's argument outright: in her view, the case is getting away from the people handling it.
Seven hours after it went up on October 2, it had close to 19,000 views. A new After Party video usually ends its whole first day near 3,600.
The groundwork came a day earlier. "The “Cornell 7” Story Is MUCH More Complicated Than You Think" follows the investigation prosecutors reopened into an alleged 2024 sexual assault. It covers the accuser's original sworn statement, a later civil lawsuit, messages attributed to some of the men, and the places where the accounts differ. Jashinsky also responds to Sunny Hostin of The View, who had defended the accused men, and draws on her own time as an intern for Christina Hoff Sommers, when the Obama-era Title IX guidelines were at the center of a fight. That video has already passed 34,000 views.
Comments on the new video came in fast, and most of them return to one question: whether anyone in the case can still get a fair hearing with this much political attention on it.
The channel as a whole is drawing about three times its usual daily views. The two Cornell videos sit far ahead of everything else she posted that week, including her reply to Hasan Piker and two segments on Jack Smith.
