Raid night leaves a question: what should players do the rest of the time?

Xaryu's reaction to Will-E's WoW Forever critique brought in more than 1,200 comments on its first day, over five times his usual response. Views were ordinary for the channel. The conversation wasn't: viewers are proposing everything from elaborate class quests to cosmetic spell effects, while others question designing around people who have already finished everything.

In "Xaryu Reacts to The WoW Forever PROBLEMS Video...", Will-E identifies a shortage of repeatable activities for fully leveled characters outside scheduled raids. Xaryu agrees there's a gap, but doesn't want Mythic+, WoW's timed, escalating dungeon system, to fill it. He favors solo challenges with cosmetic rewards, particularly distinctive items that signal mastery rather than simply offer stronger equipment.

His own workaround is to alternate between a main character, hardcore runs and self-found characters. But the comments offer a different kind of longevity: a quest worth preparing for. One viewer recalls the lengthy Wintersaber mount grind; others suggest class-specific adventures, unique titles and rewards that change how spells look.

There's also a practical objection. Several viewers say they never reached the point of logging in only for raids, and question whether the busiest players should set the agenda for everyone else.

The reaction eventually reaches another design compromise: bosses could have elemental weaknesses rather than immunities that shut out particular specializations. Xaryu supports that approach. Yet his personal priority remains elsewhere: layering, the system that splits a realm's population into separate copies of the world, which he says breaks immersion.

What viewers say

  • i think its about cosmetics farmings, but not just armour, could also be cosmetics to skills and spells. something that pushes you into the class fantasy you are looking for.

  • The wintersaber grind is the exact "chase" vibe you're after. Most people didn't even know the questline existed for a long time, and once they figured out what it took to get the mount, people had to like mentally prepare, and set aside weeks of time to do it. We don't need that exact absurdity, but that ambitious "quest" vibe is what we want more of in Forever.
  • Osrs achievement diaries would be so perfect in wow.

  • They should add some really cool unique class quests at 60. I've always thought it was cool hunter has a solo quest quest their best bow (or maybe not best). Something like that could be cool for every class also.

Could also do titles instead of cosmetics

  • Complex, hard, and long quest chains that include dungeons and raids for unique mounts gear or other stuff that has unique abilities or looks would be cool.

  • My hope for the jump in gear over time is that gear sets will be diverse enough to allow for different and interesting build concepts to allow people to continue to try and test new and fun build ideas over time

  • Anyone remember the retail quest for The Waist of Time? Such a funny questline for a cosmetic belt.

The unusual activity was in the comments, not the views: this reaction prompted a much busier first-day discussion than Xaryu's regular uploads.
