Catherine wants more than a completed checklist: she is building a collection that keeps every Pokémon species in its shiny form. Her starting point is Kanto, all 151 of the original roster.

"I Completed The SHINY Kanto Pokedex." arrived on Shiny Catherine's channel on Sunday. The channel is now drawing about 176,000 views a day, more than nine times its usual pace. That rise coincides with the new upload, rather than another stretch sustained only by older hunts, as we reported here earlier this month.

A Shiny Living Dex adds a particular demand to the familiar goal of filling a Pokédex: having the Pokémon themselves, not just their registered entries. Catherine says Pokémon Bank's approaching closure prompted the project. But rather than prioritize species she says cannot be hunted on Switch, such as Type: Null and Poipole, she has chosen to proceed generation by generation.

That orderly plan is a contrast to some of her best-known collecting adventures. Her most-watched regular upload is "I Wanted TWO SHINY Pokemon And Ended Up With 90 INSTEAD." Another begins with the ambition to find just one and ends with hundreds. This time, the collection is supposed to be enormous.
