How urgent can a rescue mission be if there's time for a musical interlude? The Spiffing Brit sets off to prepare for freeing his follower Zora, imprisoned for carrying contraband, but soon stops to entertain an Afflicted Refugee with a flute. King Gizzard, his Argonian adventurer, has interests beyond saving the world.

That opening stretch of "Spiff Vs Skyrim - Ultra Modded Hardcore Skyrim 100 days - Stream 3 #live" neatly captures the series' competing priorities. Survival means managing food, sleep and cold; the apocalypse countdown makes every death costly. Yet there are tents to loot, books to read and passing strangers to serenade. Viewers are joking about King Gizzard pursuing an international flute career instead of dealing with Alduin, while others say the streams have persuaded them to reinstall Skyrim or try the mod pack.

The stream was the most watched of three uploads this week, reaching roughly 453,000 views. Another Skyrim stream appeared alongside "Creating THE WORST PLACE To Live (GREENLAND) - EU5 Is A Perfectly Balanced Game #live". In the latter, Spiff sets out to turn a tiny in-game Greenland into a powerful nation by exploiting Europa Universalis 5's Ask For Money mechanic. His description's strategic objective is suitably on-brand: an endless tea supply.

Neither new adventure is the channel's busiest video right now. The sponsored "Skyrims Greatest Challenge - Starting From Zero", built around beginning without health, stamina or magicka, is approaching four million views and drawing the most daily viewing.

Subscribers stayed unchanged over the week, but channel views are running above their usual daily level. Among the nearby strategy and role-playing channels, Real Civil Engineer had a larger weekly view gain; Spiff's roughly 5.5 million views made this a substantial week without any subscriber growth.

What viewers say

  • only 7 hours why do you only upload shorts?
  • At this point I am a little worried that King Gizzard is more interested in becoming a celebrated international flautist than he is a Dragornborn capable of taking down Alduin.

  • For some reason I can see King Gizzard handing out business cards that just have his name and then 'Lizz, Rizz, Wizz' underneath it like Live Laugh Love.

  • I swore I wouldn't play Skyrim again, after several hundred hours, but now I'm playing Gates again... Thanks Spiff, I do have other games to play! Loving the 100 days streams.

  • It's been a little over 6 years since i've played Skyrim and these streams inspired me to get back to it 👍 I might have a go at base game first before i step in the GTS as it seems to make the game a tad more difficult.
